1. Today, I attended a lecture by Professor Doris Sommer from Harvard University at the Affiliated High School of Peking University. She shared with us how to read from a brand-new perspective rather than simply going through the text. Her meaningful ideas greatly inspired me and changed my way of thinking about reading.

2. The learning process was creative and meaningful. We broke the ice first to get closer to one another. Then we read aloud and put forward questions about the story of cigar factory workers. We also acted out parts of the text. Looking back on these activities, I gained a new understanding of reading.

3. I attended a lecture given by Professor Doris Sommer from Harvard University at the Affiliated High School of Peking University. We read passages aloud and acted out impressive sentences, which helped me better appreciate literary art and brought me more joy in study. This creative learning method can also be applied to other subjects.I also noticed obvious differences in English proficiency among peers and realized I lacked daily English practice. From now on, I will watch English movies and listen to English songs. Meanwhile, I will strengthen basic knowledge like vocabulary and grammar to improve my English steadily.

4.  I attended Professor Doris Sommer’s lecture at the Affiliated High School of Peking University. It helped us learn more about pre-text activities. The professor introduced that this process had five steps. What impressed me most was making art from the text. We read a chapter from Jesús Colón’s work and then created mime performances. Some classmates acted out the scene where the narrator overhears cigar workers talking on a bench, while others showed how the boys sneaked through the backyard to a ground-floor window of the cigar factory. This activity deeply resonated with me and made me realize that everyone can be an artist. The experience has stayed fresh in my mind. Like the boy in the story, I have become more clear-headed and confident. It also encourages me to read more and observe things more attentively.

5. I benefited a great deal from the lecture. I have learned a brand-new method of studying articles. This approach allows me to appreciate the charm of literature in a more relaxing and interesting way. It offers me fresh ideas and learning strategies. I also hope to share this unique learning method with people around me.

6.  I attended Professor Doris Sommer’s lecture on Pre-text. I learned that reading can combine creation and teamwork. This creative learning method inspires me to think critically and explore texts from new angles. I will apply fresh ideas to my future study.

7.  We took part in a workshop hosted by Professor Doris Sommer on creative literature and critical thinking. We moved away from traditional reading methods. Instead, we adopted creative methods like pantomime and questioning. We learned to think from others’ perspectives and comprehend works with independent thinking.
